Welcome from the Pastor

Welcome to Trinity Lutheran Church

We welcome you to the website of Trinity Lutheran Church, located in Lawrence, Kansas.

Our mission is to be a "Place of Grace with a Call for All to Continue the work of Jesus." Our prayer is that we as a community continue to discern what it means to be God's hands and feet in the world. We acknowledge that God calls everyone to participate in ministry, from the youngest infants to the oldest adults, and we encourage our members to discover what that means for them.   Whether it is here in the church building, at home, or at a place of work, your call to serve God's people is important and it takes many forms.

We encourage you to explore this site and get a glimpse of what it means for Trinity to be a "Place of Grace with a Call for All to continue the work of Jesus."

Peace, Pastor Mark

Announcements

Confirmation on All Saints Sunday, Nov. 2 --

Four of our Trinity youth will be confirmed at the 11 a.m. service. Please keep Alexander, Sarah, Lindsey and Erika in your prayers as they approach this milestone in their faith journeys.

“Reconciling in Christ”

At the annual meeting Nov. 16, the congregation will hear about becoming a Reconciling in Christ congregation.  Learn more about this and the Biblical understanding of hospitality. Study resources are online at http://www.reconcilingworks.org/.  Contact Kevin Boatright for more information.

Companion Synod Trip to PNG --

The Central States Synod visitation team of Gary Teske,  Gary Kallansrud,  Daniel Lilienkamp and Alex Lang are in Papua New Guinea. We pray for a fruitful visit and safe travel. Please remember that you can follow along with the travelers on Pr. Teske’s blog, http://companionsynod-kotepng.blogspot.com/.

Lawrence Justice Network --   A group of Trinity members have been hosting small group gatherings in their homes to listen to concerns about problems in our community in hopes to address them at their root cause, to help make Lawrence a healthy and safe place for all people. Everyone is invited to the discussion, as all input is valued and will be counted. Information about this network of 19 other faith organizations using a proven structure to influence our community is being shared.

We know God requires us to do justice. Of the top 20 societal values featured in Biblical text, justice is second only to love. Please make justice a priority and accept this invitation. One of the team members will contact you soon. We have the chance to learn to live what Nehemiah did - to help change social ills by changing the cause of those injustices!
